Bored and Quarantined?: Unique Ideas

Ever since self-lock down, people have wondered what to do with all of their free time. Well, we at Quill’s Digest have comprised a list of fun, unique ideas that are not commonly suggested for the bored individual who has seemed to try everything. Here we go!

Speed Stacking If you went to a public school in America, there is a high chance you may have heard of this. Essentially, it is a sport where competitors stack cups in various patterns as fast as they can. If you don’t want to shell out money for official cups, normal disposable cups with holes cut in the bottom of them work pretty well too. It is a great way to pass some time and get a little bit active if you’ve just been sleeping in bed all day.

Rubik’s Cube Surprisingly, Rubik’s Cubes are a lot easier to solve than one may think. With a couple of days of practice, most people can start solving them in under three minutes. Again, if you don’t want to shell out some cash for a cube, you can always try out Rubik’s cubes online or on your phone if you just want a fun puzzle.

Juggling This is a fun skill that is both impressive and easy to pick up. Start off with three items then four, then five, you never know how far you’ll go! Rolled up socks are great for this, and handkerchiefs offer an easy way to start!

Free games online Most likely, if you are reading this article you probably have a tech device that you can have loads of fun with. Maybe browse through the AppStore for some cool new apps or even on a browser, you can have loads of fun. Krunker.io, Poki.com, and MiniClip are great places to start. You can also play many of these games with your friends, a great way to pass time.

Instruments Why not annoy your neighbors as they hear incoherent noises coming outside of their window? In all seriousness though, there are loads of resources online to get you playing your favorite tunes on any instrument you have. If you need a cheap instrument, harmonicas are a stellar place to start, they sound amazing with low effort and high-quality ones can be found for under twenty dollars.

Cleaning (Digitally) We’ve all heard a good idea to do stuck at home is to clean the house. But why not clean your computer/phone? After months of use, our tech devices have so many files and programs that often slow them down. Maybe totally wipe an old un-used laptop or just clean up some apps on your phone that you don’t use anymore, you may be surprised with how much better they run. Try to stay clear from programs that claim to do this however, they often just make your computer slower and harder to use.

There’s our list of some unique activities other than the typical baking or learning a new language. There’s loads of fun and entertainment at your disposal, and even the simplest things can offer loads of fun. Maybe call an old friend and see what they are up to; who knows, maybe something unexpected could happen! Either way, we wish you guys the best of luck!
