Jerry's 101 Camera Tech Tips: Home

Camera Edition

After my videography teacher made an offhand comment about passing on my camera tips before I graduate, I decided to make it a reality. So here are 101 tips (give or take) on quick fixes, camera maintenance, etc.

Prologue

I’m going to one hundred percent honest with you. I’m not an author by trade. However, I enjoy videography and photography and would love to share tips that I have accumulated over my years of practice. This book is intended for complete beginners or self-taught camera guys who have a few holes in their knowledge. Basically, this is the manual that I wish I had access to when I started filming/taking pictures. As noted later, I’ll designate sections for complete beginners so intermediate and advanced filmmakers need not to read. (But feel free too, maybe you’ll learn something new!)

Also, this book covers both photography and videography. At one point, I’ve considered publishing separate books for photography and videography, but as most of my tips pertain to both trades, I found creating two separate manuals to be repetitive. Maybe I’ll create trade-specific books later, but that’ll be at a later time.

My mission is to push your skills to the next level and/or root a great foundation for you to grow on. Anyone can make money or have fun with cameras, it’s just a matter of discipline.

Also, many of these tips pertain to digital cameras, so just keep that in mind.
